By default, Notion doesn’t offer any weather widgets, however, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you can’t add one. There is a nifty online tool, Indify that lets you generate and embed your daily weather forecast, or from any place around the world with various customizations – to your Notion workspace.
You may have seen in other Notion templates there is a beautiful weather widget displaying the live weather right from a Notion page and if you also wonder how could you add the same then you’re in the right place.
Thanks to Indify, creating a weather widget and adding it to a Notion workspace has become really simple and straightforward process. And in this article, we will guide you through every step of the way – from creating the weather widget in Indify then customizing it, and finally embedding it to your Notion workspace.
How to display weather in Notion?
Time needed: 5 minutes
Follow the step-by-step guide in order to create and add a beautiful weather widget to your Notion workspace.
- Create an account in Indify
First of all, head over to Indify.co and create an account there. You can use your email address or Google account to sign up for a free account.
- Select the Weather Widget
Once you’re signed in, scroll and select the weather widget from the Volume 1 section on the homepage of Indify. You can also click on this link to directly go to the weather widget and ditch the scrolling and navigating part.
- Create and customize
Indify gives you a number of customization options for the weather widget. You can select the location you want the forecast for, preferred units for the temperature, and the number of days you want to see the forecast. Finally, when you’re finished customizing you’ll have a link ready to use in Notion.
- Embed to Notion
Now copy the widget link from the bottom of the customizer in Indify then go to your Notion workspace. Create a block in the Notion page then choose “Embed” or type
/embed
and paste your link there. Within a moment your widget will appear. You can now resize or move the widget wherever you want using the default tools in Notion.
That’s it – you’ve now successfully added a beautiful weather widget to your Notion page. Weather widgets are not only useful but also increase the aesthetic nature of any template if that is something you care about.
